Although he was once the State of Connecticut’s Troubadour, we consider him Willimantic’s own Troubadour. He is a New York City born singer-songwriter who has made his home in eastern Connecticut. Hugh has toured the United States and Europe and has six CD’s that range from quiet ballads to political satire. Caught up in the Greenwich Village music scene in the eighties, he played the Speak Easy, Folk City, Cornelia Street Café and The Bottom Line. He was a long time contributor and Associate Editor of Fast Folk Musical Magazine, now part of the Smithsonian-Folkways collection. Hugh will be performing with his band The Faithful Sky, featuring veteran musicians Jim Mercik, Mark Hall, Natasha Darius, and Jeff Buchbinder.

Opening the show is Steve Dedman.  Dedman is a multi-instrumentalist, singer-songwriter from southern Connecticut. He is the bandleader for Plywood Cowboy.  His music has been described as "a compelling balance between smart lyrics and dynamically tasty sound” Ira Sakolsky, Grammy nominated producer.  Bottle fed on roots and Americana music, Steve's songwriting portrays images of love, heartache, humor and life's hurdles.  Plywood Cowboy's debut album was released in the summer of 2016 to welcoming ears and great reviews. Steve and the band have a full calendar of performances this year and are currently working on their next full album.

Show starts at 4:00 pm. Tickets are $15 and are available at the Willimantic Food Co-op, 91 Valley Street, Willimantic. All proceeds go directly to the Covenant Soup Kitchen and Emergency Food Pantry. For information call 860-429-4220 or go to www.breadboxfolk.org.
