Owner and promoter of the legendary Shaboo Inn night club in Willimantic, Connecticut, David Foster produced more than 3,000 concerts from 1971-82, bringing to sleepy northeast Connecticut a “Who’s Who” list of international recording artists ranging from Aerosmith and AC/DC to B.B. King and Muddy Waters. Despite his success as a promoter, Foster is a musician at heart, having begun his career as a singer at age 14. In 1980, he assembled a group of musicians to form the Shaboo All-Stars. Today, Foster and his friends are still cranking out their trademark rhythm and blues music as “David Foster and the Mohegan Sun All-Stars.”

Foster has worked with such artists as B.B. King, the Temptations, Chuck Berry and Keith Richards. Over the past 37 years, the “All-Stars” rotating lineup has included notable musicians Maceo Parker on saxophone; Matt “Guitar” Murphy ( “Blues Brothers”); guitarist Cliff Goodwin (Joe Cocker, Robert Palmer); keyboardist Mitch Chakour (Bonnie Raitt, Joe Cocker); guitarist Jeff Pevar (CPR featuring David Crosby); and keyboardist Michael Finnegan (who recorded with Jimi Hendrix at Electric Ladyland).

In 2001, Foster released his first album— “Powerful Stuff”— to critical acclaim. With David’s vocals powering the music, the album featured such classics as Bob Dylan’s “Serve Somebody,” the blues standard “Sweet Home Chicago,” and Lennon and McCartney’s “With a Little Help from My Friends.” In 2009, David released “The Lost LA Sessions,” and received favorable reviews for his latest recording, “The Real Thing,” released in 2014.
